Free Health Check-up Camp outcome:
Patients of different health issues attended the camp and took appropriate advice from DR. SAHIL MATTOO, M.B.B.S, MD MEDICINE, MAMC, MRCP (UK) SENIOR CONSULTANT ENDOCRINOLOGY AND MEDICINE. He expressed “the camp was significant in raising awareness about the prevalent lifestyle disorders and non-communicable diseases like metabolic syndrome, hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol and obesity. The camp also emphasized on lifestyle modification and behavioral and dietary changes that can be implemented to possibly delay the onset of these disorders, reduce the dosage of the medications and in some rare cases reverse these disorders like diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidemia”.
In this free health check-up camp patients came with issues such as:
Hypertension: A notable percentage of attendees showed elevated blood pressure levels. Many were unaware of their condition and were advised to follow up with further evaluation.
Diabetes: Several cases of high random sugar were identified, suggesting possible undiagnosed diabetes or poorly managed existing conditions.
Nutritional Concerns: A considerable number of participants were found to be either underweight or overweight, highlighting dietary imbalances and lack of physical activity.
Preventive Awareness: Many participants lacked basic knowledge about preventive care, including routine screenings and lifestyle management.
Patients received free consultation and appropriate counselling by the doctors.
The free health check-up camp was a positive step toward community wellness. It highlighted the importance of early detection and consistent health monitoring.
Continued efforts in this direction will help improve public health outcomes significantly.
